Crash on the M1 between van and a car

There has been a crash between a van and a car on the M1 northbound near East Midlands Airport between junction 24A and junction 25.

Two lanes have been closed while the vehicles are recovered.

The travel time is expected to be around 15 minutes.

Melbourne woman banned from keeping dogs after admitting her Staffordshire bull terrier was dangerously out of control

A 50-year-old woman has been banned from keeping dogs after her Staffordshire bull terrier caused injury to another person.

Gillian Ashworth, of Sweet Leys Way, in Melbourne, admitted being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, which caused injury to another person.

Traffic building on A444

Traffic is already beginning to build on the A444 Stapenhill Road between A511 Ashby Road and St Peter’s Bridge, due to the closure.

If you need to cross the bridge, make sure you allow plenty of time, as slow traffic has been reported.
