A 49-year-old nuisance neighbour with a long history of antisocial behaviour has breached her court order for the SIXTH time in less than a year.

Linda Grimes, of Calais Road, Burton, has now been jailed having found herself back in court after she was caught breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order for a sixth time in just 10 months.

The order, which was imposed in a bid to restrict her movements in Burton, was slapped on Grimes in November due to her history of offending and committing antisocial behaviour in the town.

Staffordshire Police had applied to the courts for the order telling magistrates about her history of offending and antisocial behaviour. The order banned Grimes from causing harassment, alarm or distress to others in the WHOLE county of Stafford shire.

She would also be breaching the terms of the order if she returned to any home, business premises or public place which she has previously been given a written notice to leave. The order was to last for two years.

However, on July 29 and July 30 and August 10, Grimes ignored the order and visited an address in Casey Lane, Burton, which she was banned from doing and she ended up being hauled before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

Breaching such an order can land defendants with a five-year prison sentence or an unlimited fine - or even both punishments.

When she breached the order, in February for the third time, she escaped with a six-week jail sentence which was suspended for 12 months due to her failure to engage with probation services and the fact it was the third offence.

This time, not only did she breach her order yet again, but also admitted being drunk and disorderly in Anglesey Road, Burton, on August 25; and also breaching her supervision requirement following her release from prison when she failed to report for supervision on May 23.
Magistrates have now jailed her for 14 weeks because it was the sixth breach, deciding that she had shown a disregard for ordered imposed by the courts.

Inspector Bob Champeau, of Burton Police, has said Grimes had been a regular source of calls to the police, and that services from many different companies and members of the public who have been affected by her behaviour.
