A daredevil freerunner has taken to another Burton bridge to perform new stunts – despite a strong warning from police advising him not to.

Adrenaline junkie Tim Shieff performed a series of muscle-straining gymnastic moves on the Victorian Ferry Bridge over the River Trent in Burton last month.

Staffordshire Police branded the act a "needless risking of life" at the time and warned it could lead to copycats attempting to recreate his tricks.

Despite warnings, new video footage shows Tim has taken to the Andressey Bridge, in Burton, to perform further terrifying stunts – including a backflip.

The 29-year-old was previously filmed swinging and hanging from the iconic Ferry Bridge and even standing on the very top as people walked underneath.

The footage sparked controversy on the Burton Mail's Facebook page too, with some branding the stunt irresponsible, while others thought it incredible.

Tim, a professional freerunner, has spoken out and warned others against attempting his tricks if they are not properly trained.

What is freerunning and parkour?

The basic idea behind Parkour is to move through the surroundings in flow, that is, to get from point A to B most efficiently and as soon as possible exclusively using the body.

Parkour most often takes place in an urban environment. Buildings, handrails and walls are used for propulsion in an alternative way.

Freerunning is a sport developed from Parkour. The two concepts were about the same at one point. But now freerunning has evolved to also involve flips and elements of martial arts.
