A Horninglow resident has raised concerns after a tent was set up on an area of grass near his home a few days ago.

The man, who does not want to be named, said he wants the person - and tent - to be moved on from the area.

Burton Mail reporters went along to the scene and, while there was nobody there, it appears as though somebody could be living in the tent.

The Horninglow resident, who lives nearby, said: "A tent has been set up there for a couple of days.

"When I walked past, there were two people there sitting outside talking.

The tent is believed to have been put up a few days ago

"Usually it's a place where you can sit for a rest. It is a nice area and I don't think people will want to do that with the tent set up there.

"There's usually someone sitting on the bench when I walk past, but there wasn't on this occasion.

"I can't say I'm very pleased about the situation. I've not seen anyone doing anything untoward or causing any trouble, but I think they should be moved on."

Horninglow and Eton Parish Council, which own the land, has been contacted for a comment but so far haven't responded.
