Police are continuing their investigations after a man with a head injury was found dead at his home in Stretton.

Francis Lovelock, who was known as Frank, was found dead by officers from Staffordshire Police when they were called at 8.15pm on Saturday, July 29.

The 64-year-old was found at a house in Main Street and a post-mortem examination revealed the cause of his death as a head injury from a blunt object.

His death is being treated as suspicious and officers are continuing to investigate what happened. The 41-year-old man arrested in connection with the death has been released by police while investigations continue.

Officers are looking in to a disturbance which happened five days earlier in Stretton, in the late evening of Tuesday, July 25, at The Green. They are investigating whether the disturbance and the death are linked.

Anyone who can help the police with the inquiry is asked to call the force on the non-emergency 101 number 101, quoting incident number 771 of July 29. Alternatively they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
