A Lithuanian woman who died in a road traffic incident on the A38 has now been named.

Staffordshire Police named the woman who died near Burton on July 6 as Veronika Pugaciova, who was living in the Hull area.

Following reports of a road traffic incident on the A38 near Burton the 33-year-old was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died.

Johnathon Allison, aged 39, of Coltman Street, Hull, was charged with breaching a restraining order and remanded in custody. He will next appear at Stafford Crown Court on August 11.

He was also arrested on suspicion of causing Ms Pugaciova’s death. He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Ms Pugaciova was travelling in a van and was struck by another vehicle in the carriageway after leaving the van, police have said.
