A man has been found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving on the A38 in Burton. He was among the latest people to have their cases dealt with at North Staffordshire Justice Centre. Here are some of those cases:

Phone case

A man has been found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving. Shahid Mohammad, 24, of Crewe Street, Derby, was found guilty of driving a Toyota Avensis on the A38 Burton while using a mobile phone on October 31.
He has been fined £180, and ordered to pay £400 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Speeding offence

A man has admitted speeding. George Warrington, 75, of Mumford Drive, Ashbourne, admitted driving at 43mph in Rykneld Street and Burton Road, Alrewas, on December 10, exceeding the 30mph speed limit.
He has been fined £153 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 21 days.

Train fare

A man who did not pay his train fare has ended up in trouble. It was proved in his absence that Mohamed Taher, 31, of Goodman Street, Burton, travelled between Burton and Tamworth railway stations on March 7 without paying his £8 train fare.
He has been fined £440 and ordered to pay £130 court costs, compensation of £8 and £44 victim surcharge.
