Three men arrested in connection with an in incident in Anglesey Road on Wednesday, July 19, have been released from police custody.

Armed officers were deployed to Anglesey Road in the town at 6.20pm after reports of a man threatening people with a handgun. It later transpired that the firearm was an imitation, and police were keen to point that there was no threat to the public.

A 32-year-old man from Burton was initially arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm, and a further two men, aged 65 and 67, also from Burton, were arrested in connection with public order offences.

Staffordshire Police have this morning confirmed that all the men have been released from custody. The 65-year-old man was made the subject of a community resolution, while the 67 and 32-year-olds were released under investigation.
