A 20-year-old woman who stole tarot cards has had her case dealt with at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court. she was among the latest people to appear in court:

Thief in court

A woman has admitted shoplifting. Tracy Spencer, 20, of Chestnut Avenue, Midway, admitted stealing £15 worth of tarot cards, which forecast potential outcomes, from The Broom Closet, in Bretby Road, Newhall, on May 16. She also admitted stealing money from a woman at an address in Clay Close, Swadlincote, between December 1 and March 1.
She has been made the subject of a 12 -month conditional discharge.
She was ordered to pay £130 compensation and £85 court costs.

Drugs offence

A man has admitted driving with drugs in his system. Matthew Scoffin, 18, of Thurrows Way, Chellaston, admitted driving a Citroen C2, on the A514 in Swarkestone, on April 9, where the proportion of a controlled drug in his blood, namely 2.1 microgrammes per litre, exceeded the specified limit. He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge.
He has been fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 12 months.

Shoplifter

A woman has admitted shoplifting. Rebecca Portsmouth, 34, of Midland Road, Swadincote, admitted stealing cleaning products worth £35 from B&M, Swadlincote, on February 8.
She has been made the order of a 12-month conditional discharge.
She was ordered to pay £35 compensation, £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
