A Burton woman has thanked the Burton Albion Community Trust, after an important letter was returned to her after it had been missing for more than a month.

Pauline Roberts, 73, from Stapenhill, lost her letter, containing a personal shares certificate, when she was on the way to Queen’s Hospital, in Burton, to see a friend.

She headed to a shop to take a photocopy of the contents, but when she went to post the letter, she found that it was missing.

After retracing her steps, and still being unable find it, Mrs Roberts thought that all hope was lost. That was until, on Sunday, July 16, she received a knock at the door.

Mrs Roberts opened the door of her flat to find a member of Burton Albion Community Trust holding the letter she had lost.

She said: “I didn’t get his name, but I would love to thank him. What he did was so kind and that letter meant a lot to me. I think the trust should know that they have some good, honest people working for them.”
