A man was caught stealing a range of meat products from a Burton shop, Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court heard.

Range of meats

Daryl Winkler, 34, of Waterside Road, Stapenhill, admitted stealing 10 chicken breasts and five steaks worth £60 from Co-operative Stores, Burton, on April 9. He was fined £30 and ordered to pay £60 compensation, £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Exceeding the speed limit

A man has admitted speeding. Alan Rafferty, 39, of Ansley Road, Nuneaton, admitted exceeding the 30mph speed limit by driving at 36mph on Burton Road, Midway, on February 23. He has been fined £106 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Legs of lamb

A man has been caught shoplifting. Johnny Lee, 39, of Waterside Road, Stapenhill, admitted stealing three legs of lamb worth £30 from Farmfoods, Burton, on August 2. He was made the subject of an 18 month conditional discharge. He has been ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Driving offences

A man has admitted a string of driving offences. Josh Clapp, 21, of Goseley Avenue, Hartshorne, admitted driving while uninsured and otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and without an MoT certificate, in High Street, Newhall, on December 30. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending.

Assaulting a woman

A man has admitted assaulting a woman. Gabor Szakacs, 40, of Princess Street, Burton, admitted assaulting a woman in Burton on August 16. He has been made the subject of a community order with 100 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Assaulting another

A man has admitted assault. Paul Mends, 45, of Chesterton Road, Derby, admitted assaulting a person at The Chimneys, in Willington, on February 4. He has been fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Drugs in his system

Dexter Dove, 21, of Hopley Road, Anslow, admitted driving a Volkswagen in Fleet Street, Burton, on May 20, with cannabis in his system. He has been made the subject of a 12 month community order and 40 hours unpaid work. He has been ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £85 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 14 months.
