A two-day celebration of food, culture and crafts will be held in Swadlincote town centre - and it will include a Prosecco bar!

The free-to-enter Swadlincote food, drink and makers fair will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28 from 9am until 6pm each day on The Delph.

The family-friendly event is being held for the first time, uniting a number of nearby business owners who produce their own goods.

There will be arts, crafts, vintage and retro stalls as well as a number of food vendors, including a Prosecco and cider bar, Caribbean cuisine, street food kebabs, luxury marshmallows and much more.

Other attractions include face-painting and a ferris wheel, allowing riders to take in a unique, scenic view of the town centre.

Gail Archer, manager at Swadlincote tourist information centre, said: "If you like unique art, quirky gifts or vintage finds, you will be spoilt for choice at the Swadlincote Food, Drink and Makers Fair.

"With a wide selection of must-try cuisines and tipples, along with fun activities for young people, there is entertainment on offer for everyone."
