Laura Steer, 32, runs her own blog about her family life. The blog, Little Ladies Big World, has been put up for a national award.

She has been named as a finalist in the Brilliance in Blogging Awards 2017. She let us come behind the computer screen to delve deeper into her life.

Favourite film or TV series? Good Will Hunting.

Favourite takeaway? Thai.

Tell us one thing no-one knows about you? I once performed at the Royal Albert Hall. I was about nine or 10 and I was in a production of Chess in the Girls Brigade.

What’s your ultimate ambition in life? All I could ask for is to just be happy.

Pet hates? I can’t stand people with bad manners.

What’s your favourite song? Chasing cars by Snow Patrol.

Marmite? Love it or hate it? Love it – I’m Burton born and bred!

What’s your worst habit? I worry too much.

What was your first car? It was a Ford Ka, I think the colour was called Midnight, it was purple or black.

If you could make a law, what would it be? I would ban phones at the dinner table.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? Japan. My husband has been a lot and I would love to take the girls.

Who would you invite to a dinner party – dead or alive? I’d invite Barack Obama – I find him fascinating and inspiring. I’d love to have Ricky Gervais at a dinner party too, but I probably wouldn’t have them both at the same one.

What would you do if you won the lottery? I would travel the world with my family.
