Organisers are celebrating a hugely successful Vintage Years Festival that was "bigger and better" than ever this year.

Now in it's eighth year, the festival took place on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17 at the National Brewery Centre, in Burton.

Guests were transported back in time to the Britain of the war years, with fashion, music and classic cars typical of the time all brought together.

Visitors were even encouraged to get involved and dress up themselves to get into the atmosphere of the event.

Adam Crick, from the National Brewery Centre, in Horninglow Street, said that although exact visitor numbers were not added up, he was certain that it would be similar to last year's figures of between 800 and 900.

He also said that the popularity of the weekend came from a mix between the event and Father's Day celebrations.

He said: "It's been a really good weekend. And we've certainly been very busy, we've needed three people on reception just for it."

Classic cars, heavy horse demonstrations, vehicles from the Second World War and model railways were all laid out to give people a perfect insight to what life would have been like in the inter-war and post-war era.

One of the most popular attractions was a Royal Air Force re-enactment show.

Mr Crick said: "We had an RAF operations room. Volunteers came in and re-enacted events with a 45-minute-long show performed every two hours. That's been very popular.

"We've had birds of prey and lots of live music. So it's been really good.

"Every year we seem to get bigger and better as the information of what we do gets around, which is good."

For hungry bellies, a carvery was running across the weekend, as well as a barbecue.
