Residents from across East Staffordshire are wanted to come forward and show that they can make a difference by playing a leading role in a specified patient board for the NHS.
East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, CCG, has set up the board to be able to seek the opinions of patients who are directly impacted by the decisions made in the area about the NHS.
The CCG are looking for anyone who lives or works in the district and is dedicated enough to devote 50 hours of work a year to going to meetings and helping with other projects and activities.
The board currently meet once a month at Burton Community Fire Station, on Moor Street for three hours between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
This is a complete voluntary role, so successful applicants will not receive any money for being part of the board.
A spokesman from the East Staffordshire CCG has explained that they are looking for anyone to come forward who genuinely wants to help improve the services of the NHS.
They said: "Health chiefs are urging residents to apply to join East Staffordshire CCG patient board to help improve the local NHS services.
"The CCG welcomes all applicants who live or work in East Staffordshire with an interest in health, and in particular those who represent the view of or have an interest in children and young people, black and minority ethnicities and care at the end of life."
Applications for the role closes on Friday, September 15. Anyone interested in applying will need to fill out a short form explaining in less than 500 words why they are suitable to be involved with the patient board.
Interest applicants should also mention the particular areas they are interested in and the skills that they believe they can bring to the table.
The application form and further information about what the patient board does is available on the East Staffordshire CCG website online at eaststaffsccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/patient-board.
After completing the application form, send it by post to: Emma Keeling, Edwin House, Second Avenue, Burton-On-Trent, DE14 2WF. Alternatively you can email it to firstname.lastname@example.org .
