The weather was surprisingly humid as early risers woke up and began their day this morning - seeing highs of 17C at 8am on Tuesday, August 22.

The fog is set to clear as we progress into the afternoon, still seeing clouds but feeling temperatures as warm as 23C at around 4pm.

Overall, forecasters predict it will be a fine, warm and humid day with plenty of sunny spells in the late afternoon.

A few showers may well develop through the evening but most areas will remain dry and winds will be light.

This evening, showers may turn more frequent for a time through the evening, especially across the north of the region. However, these will fade and it will become dry and largely cloudy.
