Job seekers are being offered the opportunity to browse hundreds of roles which are up for grabs, at Burton's next jobs fair.

The annual event, which is organised by Burton MP Andrew Griffiths, has enjoyed success in the past and is now back for a seventh year, returning to the Pirelli Stadium on Friday, September 29.

The event sees the MP work in conjunction with Burton Jobcentre Plus and Burton and District Chamber of Commerce to help the unemployed find work.

Andrew said: "I am delighted to announce that Burton and Uttoxeter Jobs Fair is back. Employment is at a record high at the moment, but there are still some people looking for work and I have heard from many employers in the area who are desperate to recruit some brilliant new staff.

"The fair has proven in the past to have been an excellent opportunity to connect employers and people looking for work, and I have no doubt that this year will be the same."

The Burton MP has organised the jobs fair for a seventh year

The main sponsor of this year’s fair will again be East Staffordshire’s biggest employer, JCB, with Punch Taverns and Pirelli Tyres UK also providing co-sponsorship.

People will also have the chance to take advantage of employment training to help them better prepare for interviews while a series of seminars co-ordinated by Burton and South Derbyshire College, will help look at how to make a CV stand out or how to fill out a job application form.

There will also be advice for people looking to head out on their own and start their own business.

Mr Griffiths said: "The great thing about the jobs fair is the range of employers, from big engineering firms such as JCB, to companies involved in hospitality, the service industry and computers. There really is something for everyone."

Stands at the fair are free to businesses that have vacancies to offer to prospective applicants. Any business that would like to attend the fair, or would like more information about it should email andrew.griffiths.mp@parliament.uk
