If you are a caring and passionate nurse, then there is a job on offer at Burton's Queen's Hospital that might be just the one for you.

The hospital is looking for nurses to work on the orthopaedic ward where they will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care for the patients, said a spokesman.

Bosses say that the ward aims to offer efficient, safe and effective management of patients with a fractured neck or femur, and an enhanced recovery programme for those undergoing elective hip and knee replacement surgery.

The new nurses will find the ward has a full multi-disciplinary approach to care with ward-based physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and a daily multi-disciplinary team meeting, said a spokesman.

There are 10 trauma and orthopaedic surgeons and one orthogeriatrician who all work very closely with the nursing team as they 'strive to provide a quality service', at the hospital.

The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly across the 24-hour shift pattern and take part in the internal rotation system.

A spokesman said: "A new, and exciting opportunity awaits for you to gain experience in caring for many aspects within the specialty, including rotation between the trauma and elective wards, and completion of our local competency-based training programme, which focuses on aspects of orthopaedic nursing care, including pain management, orthopaedic emergencies and the management of the acutely ill patient.

"Our orthopaedic wards are seeking nurses who are strong in heart and generous in spirit, motivated, driven and reliable, who care with pride and want to work alongside colleagues delivering the highest standards of care.

"If you're ready to be part of a team that is committed to excellence and continuous improvement then orthopaedics would like to hear from you.
