Those with a passion for the great outdoors and protecting the heritage could find their dream job at a National Trust property in South Derbyshire.

Calke Abbey, in Ticknall, is on the look out for two experienced rangers to help the team care for more than 600 acres of habitats, wildlife and landscapes.

Among the animals roaming freely which have made the historic grounds their home are deer and fallow, which have proved a hit with visitors.

A spokesman for the National Trust attraction said: "As an outdoor champion, you'll share our work and inspire others to love this beautiful place, whether you're out and about maintaining our green spaces or leading a visitor walk around the estate.

"You’ll be at home outdoors and keen to get stuck in whatever the weather, delivering outstanding outdoors experiences and excellent conservation work."

Anyone interested in finding out more about the position at the popular stately home, or who wants to apply, can do so here. Applications close on Monday, August 21.
