A recruitment drive will see 160 new jobs created at East Midlands Airport, as well as another 100 at the airport in Birmingham.

The new jobs have been announced as part of a nationwide recruitment drive, which will see 1,700 new pilots, cabin crew and ground operatives join the UK's third largest airline.

Recruitment roadshows will be held at the Jurys Inn, at East Midlands Airport, and at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, at the NEC, to offer visitors information and expert advice about the various positions. The roadshow will come to Birmingham on Wednesday, September 6 and Castle Donington on Thursday, September 7 from 10am until 5.30pm on both days.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: "It has been an exciting year for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, and we are delighted to be creating so many opportunities to join our award-winning team.

"If you care passionately about looking after customers, we would love to see you at one of our upcoming roadshows and we look forward to welcoming you on board."

Jet2.com is looking for cabin crew to join its team

The company is looking for experienced pilots who are committed and flexible, with a strong training record. Aspiring cabin crew members will be expected to deliver a consistently high level of safety and a VIP service to customers and will work closely with the rest of the crew.

The ground operations team will be responsible for ensuring that all flights depart safely and on time, making sure all customers have the perfect start to their holiday.

The announcement comes after a successful recruitment campaign for this summer, and the introduction of flights from new bases at Birmingham and London Stansted, allowing the company to have 9.8 million seats on sale.
