Those who enjoying driving and who want to make sure that everyone gets their parcels on time are being sought in Burton and South Derbyshire.

Parcelforce is looking for delivery drivers across the country to start in October and November on a minimum six-week assignment. Bosses said there is a potential to become a permanent employee with the company, which was achieved by more than 25 per cent of drivers in the programme last year.

Successful applicants will start the day be reviewing their delivery route and making sure the vehicle is loaded and safe. They will then be out and about, driving one of the Parcelforce vans and delivering parcels to homes in businesses in the area.

Bosses are looking for someone with good attention to detail and great communication skills who will not be fazed by carrying parcels that weight up to 30k. They will need to be available for two or three months in the run-up to the festive season and after this there is a chance of it becoming a permanent job.

A spokesman said: "You don't need any previous experience driving a light van; all you'll need is a full standard driving licence. You will be delivering some of the most important parcels of the year during the build up to the festive season.

"At every step of the way, you'll use your great communication skills to make sure great customer service is delivered every time."
