East Staffordshire swimming superstar Adam Peaty has claimed another gold medal as he narrowly missed out on beating his own world record.

The 22-year-old claimed another gold to add to his already impressive collection at the World Aquatics Championships, in Budapest, in the men's 100-metres.

He completed the race in 57.47 seconds, which is just outside of his world record of 57.13. Speaking to the BBC after completing the swim, Peaty said he felt like a little kid again swimming in the World Championships as he defended his breaststroke title.

Peaty is already an Olympic champion after taking home Britain's first gold medal for Team GB at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and is hoping to do it all again at the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020.

He has won every gold medal available to him and has vowed to add more to his collection as he continues to dedicate himself to training. Peaty, who is from Uttoxeter, has previously said that he is determined to beat his own world record.
