A Staffordshire-based teenage DJ is making his name in the world of music as he prepares to play alongside some of the biggest names in dance.

Jordan Cable, of Micklehome Drive, Alrewas, will take to the decks with N Trance, Ultrabeat and Danny T for the Clubland Tour on July 14.

Despite only playing in the clubs for less than a year, he is already making a name for himself after gaining a residency at Voodoo Chilli, in Goole. Through this he was spotted for the Clubland Tour, which boosts the big-named DJs.

The organisers ran a Clubland event at the club with the hope of picking a few of the DJs to play at the various venues on the tour and Jordan was picked to play at the Goole club on the night.

The 19-year-old said: "Recently I was given a residency at Voodoo Chilli in Goole.

"I started playing there and they took to me quite well and they ran a Clubland event where they picked a few DJs they wanted and they asked me to take part.

"I believe I will be warming up for Danny T and possibly playing back to back with Ultrabeat at the afterparty.

"I started DJing when I was young playing around in my bedroom and I did a few mobile discos for birthdays from 16 to 60. I did the full range as I was testing the different genres.

"I did sixth form parties and I started to develop that, moving into the clubs. I reached out to an agency and moved in to the clubs as I knew that is what I wanted to do.

"My first club was Cruise in Chester last October, it is a three-room club and I was playing RnB.

"I tend to play dance, house and bass music mainly but I class myself as mixed genre as I play anything depending on how I feel and how the room is taking it."

A few days later the former John Taylor High School pupil will be flying off to Kavos in Corfu where he will be playing alongside names like Tim Westwood and Hardy Caprio.

DJ Jordan Cable is joining the Clubland tour

Jordan said: "I am going out to Kavos for a week to introduce myself to going and working abroad. I reached out to them and dropped them a mix tape. They listened to it and it went from there.

"I am over the moon as this is something I have always wanted to do and I have been pushing for a while to play some of these big events.

"I started in the little clubs to build my name and brand. This is the direction I wanted to go.

"It is something I have developed on my own, starting with basic equipment.

"I went and purchased more advanced controls and just kept playing different mixes and posting them online. I got friends to listen to it and developed from there.

"I pretty much played around every single night and developed from there."

Tickets to see Jordan on the Clubland Tour have now sold out.
