One of the most hotly anticipated events of the South Derbyshire calendar is back again this year with another parade of floats and carnival entertainment.

Hatton Carnival will showcase its traditional parade of dressed floats, with musical accompaniment from The Ambassadors Showband, Derby County mascot Rammie, as well as clowns and a magical musical bike, plus a fire engine.

The parade will be led by the Carnival Queen.

In the arena, there will be dog agility act Paws for Thought, along with songs from The Mellow Dramatics from Burton.

On the rest of the field, there will be a funfair, inflatables, a Punch and Judy show, with balloon modelling, a craft tent, train rides, a fun dog show and refreshments tent as well as a gin/prosecco bar, a circus workshop and many different stalls.

Plenty of activities for the young and old

The carnival, which is free to enter, starts at noon on Saturday, July 14, with the parade beginning from behind the Co-operative, in Station Road, Hatton.

Roads in the area will be closed for a few minutes to allow the parade access.

The main event will be held at Hatton Sports and Social Ground, in Scropton Road, with free parking offered by the old Trent Barton garage by Hatton Butchers, in Station Road.
