A 12-year-old girl who was reported missing from her home in Woodville, has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

Derbyshire Police had been appealing for help in finding school girl Katelyn Kirkland, who had been seen leaving her house yesterday afternoon, Saturday, August 19, and was seen late last night in the Newhall area.

However, she did not return home and police grew concerned for her welfare. But after an appeal, including on social media, the youngster was found safe ad well.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: "Katelyn Kirkland, who was earlier reported missing from her home in Woodville, has been found safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal for information or got in touch to help."
