A tattooist to the stars is auctioning off a once in a lifetime trip to see the Singapore Grand Prix as he joined the fight to help his son's former teacher get potentially life-saving treatment in Germany.

Ed Sheeran's tattooist Kevin Paul, who is also famous for his TV appearances, is appealing to the public to help teacher Zara Scott, 34, raise nearly £90,000 for specialist treatment for her brain tumour.

The Derby teacher, who formerly worked at Melbourne Primary School, desperately wants to extend her life long enough to see her children go to school.

Kevin, who has his studio based in Melbourne, said: "The way I look at it is, if this was happening to me, I would want people to help so this is why I have decided to help out.

"Zara is a really nice teacher and used to teach my son. She was very caring so it would mean a lot to me if we were able to raise the funds to help her with her treatment.

"The Singapore Grand Prix will be a great experience and the person will meet the drivers and get really involved.

"I would encourage as many people as possible to help this family."

Zara has been a teacher for last 14 years and her family is hoping to raise £88,000 for specialist treatment after she was diagnosed with her incurable condition back in January, just months after she gave birth to her second child Isaac.

Zara's condition became apparent when she began having headaches in December last year and her partner Matthew Honeyman found her having a seizure.

She was later diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour.

She has already undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy and even had an operation to remove the tumour, but due to the ferocity of her condition, she needs this specialist treatment.

So far, £30,000 has been raised towards the cause.

The people of Melbourne pulled together to hold a huge fund-raising event, on Saturday, July 7, which generated another £4,000.

The exclusive trip to the Singapore Grand Prix, offered to Kevin by Euroseal Windows, takes place between September 14 and 16.

Kevin has also managed to get a £1,000 donation of power tools from B&Q and a signed shirt from Derby County, all to be auctioned off to to raise the funds.

Laurie Scott, Zara's sister, said: "It has been amazing to see so many people come forward and we are so pleased to have them part of this fund-raising.

"Every day feels like we all have a big black cloud over our heads and all we want to do is get my sister the treatment so we can have her back and she can live to see her children go to school.

"She is such a wonderful, happy person and this condition has really had a massive impact on her and her family and we have to do everything we can to help her overcome this.

"It would mean everything to us to get her the support she needs, we all want her back to full strength, we want her to live a happy life.

"For her to get this treatment it would give us all one big tick and we can keep fighting for her life."

Zara is hoping to go to the Hallwang Private Oncology Clinic to have immunotherapy treatment which will see doctors try to bolster her immune system to better fight the disease.

Other fund-raising events include a summer party night which will take place from noon until 6pm on August 19 at the Bell and Castle as well as a special Caribbean night on September 29 at the Victory Club, in Allenton.

The family is also appealing to anyone who can help them with childcare to also come forward.
