Families can enjoy free entertainment at the biggest fun day in Uttoxeter's calendar. On Saturday, August 26, thousands of mums, dads and children will descend on Bramshall Road Park for Lark in the Park.

Organised by Uttoxeter Lions, most of the entertainment will be free, thanks to funding from East Staffordshire Borough Council.

Trampolines, swing boats, rodeo bull, a ferris wheel and donkey rides will be just a few of the attractions.

The afternoon kicks off at 1pm with Uttoxeter Town Band in the arena, followed by a variety of entertainers geared up for audience participation.

Terry Adams, president of Uttoxeter Lions, said, “In the past we have had some very good ‘headline’ acts but in truth they are becoming so expensive that the whole budget could be used up with one act and we find our audience prefers lots of non stop attractions in the arena.

"Council budgets are under pressure and we pride ourselves on giving value for money with something for everyone to enjoy."

The afternoon also provides opportunities for charity and community groups to host fund-raising and awareness stalls. Recent downpours have ensured a good level of water in the Picknall Brook for the final event, - the duck race.
