Staffordshire Blood Bikes has received a donation from Burton Girls’ High School Association following their annual fund-raising coffee morning.

The yearly president's coffee event is held by the group to raise funds for a charity which is chosen by the organisation's president; this year the Blood Bikes were chosen by Jenny Griffin.

Mrs Griffin says she attended a talk by a member of the Shropshire and Staffordshire Blood Bikes, and then decided to choose it as her designated charity.

Staffordshire Blood Bikes is a group of volunteers who use motorcycles to transport blood, breast milk and a whole range of specialist equipment to hospitals and whose services are used 24 hours a day.

The fund-raising coffee morning collected £521 and a cheque was presented by group member Jane Appleby and president Jenny Griffin to Staffordshire Blood Bikes chairman Jeremy Cartwright outside the Linnel building of Abbott Beyne School, in Burton.
