Roadworks around Burton and South Derbyshire are causing havoc for early morning commuters again.

Most ways in and our of the area have been plagued by roadworks over the past few weeks, and there's no change this morning.

The temporary traffic lights near Pirelli Stadium on the A5121 Derby Road at the B5018 have been causing severe delays for motorists this morning. The lights are in place as waterworks repairs are undertaken on the road.

Four way traffic lights are causing delays on the B5416 Station Street at Union Street. These will be in place until Wednesday, July 26.

Slow-moving traffic on the M42 at junction 11 near Burton is affecting traffic on the A444 into the town, which is looking to be worse than usual. The traffic on the motorway is being caused by debris on the road.

Meanwhile in South Derbyshire, there are roadworks in Newhall on Bretby Road at B5353 High Street, on the A514 Swadlincote Road at Frederick Street and a lane is closed on the A444 Burton Road at Linton Heath while electricity work is being carried out. These roadworks are causing major delays at busy periods.

For those travelling further afield, commuters heading towards Nottingham might want to avoid the A615 eastbound, due to cows on the road causing major traffic problems.
