A motorcyclist has been left counting the cost after thieves bundled his bike into a van on a residential Uttoxeter street.

The sunset yellow bike was stolen from Byrds Lane between 10pm on Wednesday, May 16, and 6am on Thursday, May 17.

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft as they try to catch the culprits, who made off with the bike in a white van.

A spokesman for the force said: "It was stolen without keys, from the driveway of a property on Byrds Lane.

"The motorcycle is described as a SYM 125CC Wolf, in sunset yellow with registration DX11 DMO. It has a distinctive black and white sticker on the fuel tank.

"Officers would like to speak with anyone who saw two individuals loading a motorcycle into a white Ford Transit van, registration BG56 OWF, in the early hours of the morning on Byrds Lane.

"If you know the whereabouts of the motorcycle or have any information, please call 101 quoting incident 093 of 17 May."
