A pair of running shoes worn by Usain Bolt during the London 2012 Olympic Games have been stolen from a house in Linton.

The white, blue and red Puma Evosprints, which were signed by the Jamaican track superstar following his victory in a 100m heat at the London games.

They were taken from the South Derbyshire house on Sunday, June 10.

A man in his 30s, of no fixed abode, has been charged in relation to this incident along with a further alleged nine burglary offences.

The victim, who asked not to be named said: "The spikes are part of an extensive collection which I have built-up over the last 10 years.

"There are only four or five pairs of spikes that have been signed from the London 2012 Olympics - they are absolutely irreplaceable."

Usain Bolt won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay at London 2012 in a record-breaking games for his personally.

He retired from the track following the 2017 World Championships in London.
