A high octane water park is set to open just a short journey along the the motorway from Burton this year.

The amazing £38.7 million attraction with an innovative and unusual design is being built on a site in Coventry.

It is hoped the new attraction will be open by late 2018, and it is expected to attract 1.3 million visitors a year.

Due to its city centre location, previously a council building called Spire House, an innovative design has had to be created due to the limits on space - meaning the building is set to spread up instead of out.

Inside there will be a water park with slides, a 25-metre swimming pool, gym, climbing wall, squash courts, dance studio and day spa, report Coventry Live.

The facilities inside will be stacked vertically, and this will see most of the water features and the “high octane” rides at the upper level of the building.

Artists’ impressions show the new building has been designed to reflect Coventry’s weaving past – with the outside appearing to be wrapped by a swirling ribbon.

Construction work began at the site earlier this year.
