An accident involving a car and a HGV on the A50 is causing delays this morning.

Traffic is queuing in both directions after the vehicles collided near the Blythe Bridge roundabout at the junction with the A521, according to traffic information website, Inrix.

The collision is believed to have happened at around 10.30am.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We are currently attending a road traffic collision on the A50, at the junction of the A521 Blythe Bridge roundabout.

"There is currently a high build-up of traffic, so please find an alternative route where possible."
