Pollution is a serious issue - the impact we are having on our planet can no longer be ignored and we should be taking any chance possible to help stop the problem.

There are an unthinkable number of cars on the roads every day across the world, each adding to pollution and causing further damage.

Each car emits a list of gases when running, including carbon dioxide which has detrimental effects on the planet.

Electric cars can act as a remedy for this, a far more eco-friendly solution for getting from one point to another, without emitting dangerous gases.

Hybridised cars are another solution; they combine a traditional petrol or diesel engine with an electric motor, using less fuel and emitting less carbon dioxide.

Concerns do arise about the short span and availability of stations able to ‘top up’ the vehicles to keep them on the road. But as more people invest in electric cars, the more spaces will be made available to charge them.

The number of commercial electric cars was low and the cost of them prohibitive; far more than those running on petrol and diesel cars.

But, now a whole range of well-known and respected car brands manufacture and sell electric vehicles; from Mercedes-Benz and Nissan to Volkswagen and Renault.

As more companies invest in producing electric cars, the more competitive the market, and the cheaper and more available the cars will be.
