Burton Albion are still rank outsiders to gain promotion back into the Championship at the first attempt.

The Brewers begin their assault on League One with Saturday's visit of Rochdale to the Pirelli Stadium. It is only their second season in the third-tier after their relegation from the Championship was confirmed at Preston in May's final-day defeat at Deepdale.

League sponsors Sky Bet aren't holding out much hope for Nigel Clough's side. With Hope Akpan, Tom Naylor, Matty Lund and Tom Flanagan departing for pastures new, the bookmakers are backing Albion at 8/1 for promotion - and 28/1 to win the title.

Sunderland, under new ownership and with Jack Ross at the helm, are favourites to bounce back after a devastating campaign last season. They are evens, while fellow relegated side Barnsley are second-favourites at 5/2.

The bookmakers have Albion at 5/1 to suffer a consecutive relegation.
