Date set for Burton Albion's Carabao Cup game at Shrewsbury Town

Burton Albion's Carabao Cup first-round trip to Shrewsbury Town will take place on Tuesday August 14 (7.45pm).

The Brewers will travel to New Meadow to kick-off their Cup campaign three days after their second League One fixture of the season, which sees them away at Gillingham.

Albion will be targeting another decent run in the competition, having seen their previous two campaigns end at the hands of Premier League giants.

They reached the third round last season before losing 4-1 at Manchester United, while Liverpool triumphed 5-0 at the Pirelli Stadium in round two.

Burton's League trip to Shrewsbury is scheduled for February 16, with the reverse fixture taking place on December 8.
