Former Burton Albion midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen has joined Danish side Brondby IF for an undisclosed fee.

The Denmark under-21 side captain joined the Brewers on loan from parent club Fulham in January alongside fellow Cottager Cauley Woodrow and helped Albion to Championship survival.

Christensen made 16 appearances and contributed four assists during his time at the Pirelli Stadium, with the team only losing four times in that period as they completed an unlikely second-tier survival mission.

Alongside fellow January loanees Michael Kightly and Luke Murphy, Woodrow and Christensen were a revelation at the Brewers.

Murphy has returned to Albion on a season-long loan deal, while Kightly has headed back to former club Southend United and Woodrow has had an option activated in his contract to keep him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2019.

Christensen, meanwhile, has opted for a move back to his native Denmark - joining a Brondby side that finished in second place and boasts alumni of the likes of Michael Laudrup and Peter Schmiechel.

The 22-year-old spent his summer skippering his country in the European under-21 Championships, and moves back to his homeland after joining Fulham from FC Midtjylland in 2012.
