Burton Albion head to QPR this afternoon (3pm) looking to stretch their unbeaten run to three league matches at Loftus Road.

Last week's win over Fulham coupled with a solid display at Norwich City before that ensures that the Brewers head into today's encounter against a side they defeated last term full of confidence.

With the added bonus of Wednesday night's 4-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford - another assured performance against top-class opposition - Albion will want to come away from QPR with three points as they did last term.

That January win came just as Nigel Clough was deliberating whether to jump ship to his former side Nottingham Forest - but many have credited that display with helping to convince Clough that his heart lay at the Pirelli Stadium.

Lucas Akins on today's QPR draw

Obviously coming here we knew it was going to be a very very tough game physically, so we knew first and foremost we had to match them physically, and then when we got opportunities, to try and get the ball down and play as well. In there it feels, I don’t know, a little bit like a couple of points lost, in terms of our first-half performance when I thought were on top of them and created some decent openings.

Nigel Clough has been talking to BBC Radio Derby

When you rest them you hope they’re going to be a little bit sharper than that. It’s just a balancing act of who stays on and who starts. The players need to learn to take the opportunities early on if they get them. It’ll be nice to have two games at home up next.

Full-time!

QPR 0-0 Burton Albion.

Boos and groans from QPR fans around us as Burton earn another away point - as the Brewers continue their resurgence with a point at Loftus Road.

A damp squib of a second-half couldn’t match up to an entertaining first, with Albion grateful for a good away point in the end.

Full match reaction and our verdict to come.
