Blackburn Rovers are reportedly interested in a loan deal for Manchester City midfielder Jacob Davenport.

Davenport enjoyed a successful first spell in senior football with Burton Albion in 2017-18 after joining the Brewers in January.

He made 17 appearances at the base of the Albion midfield and was a virtual ever-present as they made a late charge for safety, narrowly missing out to be relegated to League One.

Blackburn are coming the other way after bouncing back at the first time of asking to reach the Championship.

And according to the Lancashire Telegraph, 19-year-old Davenport - who is well thought of by City boss Pep Guardiola - is one of several young players they are looking at deals for from Premier League clubs.

Davenport's displays for Albion are likely to have caught the eye of sides in the Championship, while Burton would be keen on getting him back to the Pirelli Stadium if possible in League One.
