Leeds United are reportedly in talks with Turkish side Beiktas over a move for Whites strker Chris Wood, according to the Daily Express .

The national newspaper is quoting Turkish outlet Footmac, with Besiktas having sent scouts to watch Wood in action and sending back poitive reports to boss Senol Gunes.

Gunes is said to be keen on signing a target man, and has apparently shortlisted the 27-goal Leeds forward as a possible replacement for Vincent Aboubakar.

The Turkish champions will have to break the bank to land Wood - with Leeds valuing their star-man at around £20m.

Derby County have had a bid of around £7 million for Leicester City midfielder Tom Lawrence rejected, the Derby Telegraph understands.

Lawrence spent last season on-loan at Ipswich Town, netting 11 goals and winning the club's player of the year award - but boss Craig Shakespeare has said he wants to kep the Welsh forward.

"I don’t know what price Tom Lawrence has got on his head. I would like to keep Tom here," Shakespeare said after the Foxes' 2-1 defeat to Burton Albion last night.

"I believe there was a bid a while ago, that has been turned down because it wasn’t enough."

Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia has ruled out the prospect of Villa signing Hull City striker Abel Hernandez.

The Villans were linked with a move for the Uruguayan, with reports originating from his homeland that a deal with Villa could be done this summer.

Villa reportedly wanted the player last summer but spent their money elsewhere after failing to thrash out a £20m deal, according to the Birmingham Mail.

But Villa's owner has moved to quell any speculation of a deal being done this summer.

Nottingham Forest are close to agreeing a loan deal for Everton prospect Kieran Dowell, reports Sky Sports.

The 19-year-old midfielder was part of the England squad that won the U20 World Cup this summer, and looks set to complete a season-long witch to the City Ground.

Academy graduate Dowell is highly-regarded by Blues boss Ronald Koeman, and has been sent out on a temporary basis to get more game-time under his belt.

He scored the only goal in the group match against South Korea in the U20 World Cup - ensuring England a place in the second round, and impressed in the final victory over Venezuela.
