Birmingham City reportedly offered Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere £90,000 a week to join them before the end of the summer transfer window last week.

Harry Redknapp's Blues - who were beaten 2-1 by Burton Albion last month at the Pirelli Stadium - were busy on deadline day, bringing in a host of new faces, including Brentford trio Jota, Maxime Colin and Harlee Dean.

But with Redknapp keen to bolster his squad further after an indifferent start to the campaign that leaves them level with the Brewers on four points after five games.

England international Wilshere was among a list of players linked with a move to St Andrew's.

And according to the Mirror, the Arsenal man turned down an offer of £90,000 a week to join the Blues, with Wilshere reportedly unwilling to drop down to the Championship at this stage in his career.

He instead has stayed with the Gunners as he seeks to battle his way into the team.
