Hull City midfielder Jackson Irvine took to social media to thank Burton Albion fans following the confirmation of his move to the KCOM Stadium on Wednesday morning.

Irvine, a firm fans favourite after his standout performances in Albion's debut Championship season last term, released a statement on Twitter thanking fans for their support and wishing the club well for the future.

10 goals as Burton secured Championship football for only their second season in their history endeared Irvine to the Pirelli Stadium faithful, and he told them how much that meant to him on Wednesday afternoon.

But now the former Ross County man moves on, and joins a Hull team looking to bounce back to the Premier League following their relegation last term.

A fee of around £2 million is believed to be the sum that prised Irvine away from Burton, and it's notable that a sell-on clause has been inserted into the midfielder's contract should he move on from the Tigers.
