Portsmouth have completed the signing of versatile Tottenham Hotspur youngster Anton Walkes on a permanent deal.

The 21 year-old, who played in both defence and midfield for Kenny Jackett's side during a successful loan spell last season, has signed a two-year contract with the club for an undisclosed fee.

He made 12 successive starts for Pompey in that loan stint after joining in January, featuring at right-back and in holding midfield.

That could see him competing for a position with ex-Burton Albion man Tom Naylor, who joined Portsmouth last month after deciding not sign a new deal with the Brewers.

Peterborough have continued their summer recruitment drive by making young winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts their 14th signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old Manchester City academy graduate was part of the England Under-19 side that won the European Championships last summer.

He spent last season out on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente as well as a short spell at Oxford United - but has now signed a three-year deal with the Posh.

Sunderland are close to signing Reading's versatile midfielder George Evans, with a fee believed to be in the region of £1 million having been agreed, according to the Chronicle.

It is thought that Black Cats boss Jack Ross sees Evans' ability to play in a wide range of positions as crucial, with a current shortage of defensive-minded players in the squad ahead of their first season in the third tier since 1988.

Personal terms are still reportedly to be agreed before a deal is completed.
