Former Burton Albion goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin is reportedly a target for Azerbaijani side Qarabag.

McLaughlin is now a free agent after his deal at Hearts expired following the conclusion of last season. He joined his hometown club after his release from Burton last summer.

Now the former Brewer could end up playing Champions League football this season, with the Daily Star reporting that the 30-year-old has been offered a 'big-money chance' to play for Qarabag.

He's said to have been offered a two-year deal to move to Baku. Qarabag will have to overcome Slovenian outfit Olimpija in the first qualifying round of the Champions League in July to stand a chance of making it into the group stages.

A move back to England could still be on the cards, though, with Millwall and the Brewers' League One rivals Sunderland also reportedly interested in the 'keeper.

McLaughlin made over 100 appearances for Albion in a three-year period that saw the club record back-to-back promotions into the Championship and then survive relegation in their first year at that level.

He made 33 appearances for Hearts last season, with his performances earning him the first appearance of his career for Scotland, in a 1-0 defeat to Mexico on June 2.
