This year's Lark in the Park event did not disappoint families in Uttoxeter who had been waiting all year for one of the largest fun days in the town's calendar. On Saturday, August 26, masses of people turned out at Bramshall Road Park for the celebration.
The sun came out as hundreds enjoyed the eagerly awaited free event, organised by the Uttoxeter Lions with the support of East Staffordshire Borough Council.
The fun kicked off at 1pm with Uttoxeter Town band performing in the arena, followed by a variety of entertainers geared up for audience participation activities.
People of all ages came out in the sunshine to enjoy trampolines, swing boats, a rodeo bull, a ferris wheel and donkey rides, among many other exciting attractions.
The event's most famous attraction, the Duck Race, did not disappoint as children of all ages flocked to the Picknall Brook to see if their duck would be the first one to pass the finish line.
In a post on Facebook, the organisers thanked everyone who turned out for the event. It read: "The Uttoxeter Lions hope everybody had a great time at Lark in the Park on Saturday.
"The weather was great and it is always satisfying to see so many happy faces. It makes everything worthwhile."
The afternoon celebration also allowed for charity and community groups to open their own stalls, helping them to raise much-needed funds and awareness for their causes.
