Ever fancied dining with a celebrity? Well that chance is here, as well-known auctioneer Charles Hanson is hosting a charity lunch event in Burton.

This is set to be held at The Winery, in Manor Drive, Burton in aid of the Donna Louise Children's Hospice, which provides quality palliative care for children, young people and their families in Staffordshire.

Charles Hanson, who is known for his on screen appearance for BBC shows such as Bargain Hunt and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, will be hosting the ticketed event on Tuesday, September 26 at 12.30pm.

Mr Hanson has expressed how excited he is at getting to be part of the charity event, which he believes is for a very good cause.

He said: "I am so delighted to be working with the Donna Louise Children's Hospice – they provide such a valuable service to the young people they work with, and I am honoured to be invited to host this marvellous event."

Guests at the lunch will enjoy two courses of food, followed by an inspirational talk from Mr Hanson, who will share some of his best anecdotes about the antiques business and some secrets about working on television.

Chris Belyavin, the regional fund-raiser for Donna Louise, has spoken of his gratitude to Mr Hanson for hosting the event.

He said: "Hansons are great supporters of the Donna Louise and regularly hold valuation days at a local cricket club, where visitors are encouraged to make a voluntary donation to the hospice while having their items valued. We're really grateful to Charles and his team for their ongoing support and particularly for supporting us in this way.

The lunch at The Winery promises to be a great chance to get a real insight into the antiques business from one of the best known antiques experts in the country. Thank you also to everybody at The Winery for laying on what I know will be a fantastic meal in a fantastic setting."

Tickets for the event can be purchased from The Winery, on Manor Drive in Burton for £25 and will take place at the restaurant at 12.30pm on Tuesday, September 26.
