Never ones to shy away from a challenge, the Burton Mail thought we'd try the super-sized Morrisons' foot-long sausage roll.
The pastry has been available all week from the supermarket giant, which has stores in Burton and Swadlincote for just £1. And they've been selling, well, like hot sausage rolls.
The roll, which impressively weighs in at nearly half a kilogram, and has to be served on a special tray to support its weight!
So we headed down to Morrisons to see if we could get our hands on the sausage roll that has been making waves all over the country.
It has been launched in time for the start of the football season this weekend to be the 'ultimate match day pie experience', say Morrisons bosses. And we reckon one of these will do two people they are so enormous.
And our hungry reporter Beth Pridding can happily report that the sausage roll was mouth-wateringly good; the taste certainly hadn't been compromised by the sheer mass of the roll, which will come as welcome news to pastry fans.
Beth said, after brushing away the crumbs: "While I tried my best to finish one, I was stuffed after finishing just half of the roll. It's safe to say this is definitely not a snack!
Matt Goodley, store manager at the Burton Morrisons, in Wellington Road, said: "We sell hundreds of freshly baked sausage rolls a week but customers have asked for one that's even bigger, so we created this foot-long version.
"With the start of the football season approaching, we're hoping our foot long sausage roll will be making its way to the top of the snack league table."
But you'll have to hurry if you want to get this monster for the bargain one quid a pop as the Morrisons new foot-long sausage roll is only available at this knock-down price until Sunday, August 13. You can still get one after tomorrow of course, but the £1 offer ends then.
