The annual Sausage and Cider Festival in South Derbyshire gets under way tomorrow, Friday, June 30.
This year’s festival is taking place at Catton Park, features a world-famous guest in the form of Titan the Robot, who will be getting down to meet festival-goers. It is hoped that Titan will even be showing visitors how to do the perfect their robot dance moves.
Titan is a famous street entertainer, who goes to many events up and down the country, impressing visitors with his robot dancing. The campsite at Catton will open at 2pm tomorrow, so any campers can get in early to find a good spot. The event car park will open at 8am on Saturday, July 1, and 9am on Sunday for anyone who wishes to attend the festival just for the day.
There’ll be dozens of varieties of premium sausages and ciders available for visitors across the weekend, from classic apple ciders to mixtures of different fruits.
Tribute acts to stars such as Beyonce, Take That, Kings of Leon and Taylor Swift will be taking to the stage at the festival, over the three-day event.
All creatures great and small will also be in attendance to join in the action, as a petting zoo is set to attend to entertain the kids with animals varying from silver foxes to dozens of varieties of snakes.
The festival, organised by James Dean Events, has proved to be popular across the country holding festivals in Essex, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.
There’ll be strawberry daiquiri’s and mojitos aplenty as another first for this year’s festival will be a new Prosecco and cocktail bar, Bar Basso, offering a wider of variety of drinks for guests. There will also be the Basso Barista offering luxury coffees and teas in case you need a bit more to wake you up in the morning.
To help you get into the festival spirit, there is free face and body painting for all ages, and you can even get your hands on a free Slush Puppie by heading down.
If you fancy heading down and didn’t manage to grab a ticket, there are 250 on the door each day, and there’s still tickets available online for Sunday.
It costs £25 for the day per adult on Saturday and £20 for children. On Sunday it is £20 for adults and £15 for child.
