Excitement is mounting as everyone's favourite doo-wop band have announced the dates for their Christmas tour.

On sale at 10am on Friday, August 4, The Overtones will headline theatres around the country in December including gigs in Birmingham and Nottingham. After the recent success of their single Beauty and the Beast, the band has released their brand-new EP Happy Days which is available here.

Following in the footsteps of other themed releases such as Good Ol’ Fashioned Christmas, Saturday Night at the Movies and Sweet Soul Music, the quintet doesn’t disappoint with their latest themed offering.

Consisting of some of the biggest TV theme tunes in history the EP will create some serious nostalgia! As the name suggests, the lead track from the EP comes from the iconic American sitcom Happy Days; an energetic 50’s rockabilly track which showcases the band’s five-part harmonies beautifully and encapsulates the playfulness of the group perfectly, setting the tone for the entire EP, which also includes unique renditions of the theme tunes from The Littlest Hobo, Golden Girls and Cheers.

Of the new EP the guys said: "We originally did a YouTube video singing an acapella of Thank You For Being a Friend and the response online really blew us away. It was really lovely hearing nostalgic stories from people and fans who loved these old TV shows.

"It gave us the idea to record some more theme tunes that we all love and that we have special memories attached to. It took a while to agree on the final four as there are so many amazing theme tunes but the one’s we have chosen fit us like a glove vocally. We’re really excited for people to hear this EP and hopefully they will enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed recording them.”

The Overtones have firmly established themselves as the number one vocal harmony group. Since breaking into the charts in 2010 with their debut album Good Ol’ Fashioned Love, the group has built-up a reputation as an act with the unique ability to deliver consistently uplifting music infused with exquisitely crafted vocal harmonies. It’s no wonder that they have sold more than a million records and had five top five albums.

Celebrating the most wonderful time of the year, with a stocking rammed full of Christmas crackers, in the shape of good ol’ classics such as White Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Let It Snow, The Overtones Christmas tour has become a staple fixture in everyone’s Christmas party season and 2017 will be no exception.

The Overtones will be back for a 14-date nationwide tour which is guaranteed to be the ultimate festive party. This will be the third Christmas tour the band have embarked on with praise from fans and press alike.

The guys said: "Once again we're thrilled to be back on tour this Christmas! We always work our hardest to bring our fans the best Christmas party in town.

"We love that it's become a fixture of our Christmas season and we love it's become a fixture in yours too! We're going to bring the audience a night full of fun, laughter and dancing in the aisles. There might just be some surprises thrown in there too. So put on your glad rags, bring your Christmas baubles and come party with The Overtones!"
