Fans of a variety of musical genres will be catered for in the Uttoxeter area in the coming week. The Old Star, in Queen Street, is again hosting two promising acts during the weekend.

Rock band Sanitorium will take to the hallowed Star stage on Friday night, August 18, from around 9pm. They promise an energy-fuelled set of popular tunes that will get their audience's heads banging.

Rockabilly artist Eddie Martin will bring his own inimitable style to the Star on Saturday night, August 19, also from around 9pm.

The stand-up bass legend will be joined by his four-piece backing band, the Rhythm Cruisers, who provide accompaniment on guitar, drums and saxophone.

Entry to the Uttoxeter pub for both gigs is free of charge and more information is available online by searching for "The Old Star Uttoxeter" on Facebook.

Those who fancy a chance to perform themselves can do so on Tuesday, August 22 at the Green Man, in Hixon, during one of its regular buskers' nights.
